Second meet of VW Club, Thin Air Dub Club!

Yesterday was the second meeting of our new VW club here in Laramie, Thin Air Dub Club!

We were concerned that our meet might not get many people coming out, as we have had some really bad smoke filled skies (thanks to the Mullens fire and the winds) and the fact that it is October, and in Laramie that means the weather is gradually shifting to colder temperatures. We were blessed with great weather! The otuside temperatures were perfect to hang outside and talk VWs, and the smoke wasn't making an appearance until later in the afternoon, after all of us had gone home.

In total, we had seven VWs show up for the meet! We had two Laramie folks and the rest caravanned from Cheyenne. The Cheyenne folks were from our sister club, Wyoming Volkswagen Aircooled Club. We had enough people and VDubs that we held our cruise. We started on the east side of town, at the Freddy's Custard & Steakburgers, drove through historic downtown Laramie then a stop at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site(WTP).

Everyone mentioned that as we drove through downtown Laramie, there were a lot of pedestrians pointing and taking photos of our caravan, along with many smiles to see. I think this is how we create a name for ourselves; to be out there and being seen by the public. I hope to do the cruise more often and hopefully the word gets around about.

After we had our photos and were ready to hit the road, we left WTP, drove through a more residental area of town and convened at the parking lot for the University of Wyoming's football stadium, War Memorial Stadium. Everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to the next meet!
