In spite of the clusterf**k that 2020 has been, my wife was really wanting to take our grandson to that fall season tradition: the farm pumpkin patch. You know, the pumpkin patch with stacks of pumpkins, hay bales, hot chocolate, good food, and a lot of un. As our grandson is now four years old, he is entering that phase of his life where he will remember the events that happen to him and the experiences he witnesses. Knowing that, Renee wanted to give him the experience of having fun at a pumpkin patch.
Renee did some research on Facebook and found out about this family run pumpkin patch in Lingle, Wyoming, at Ellis Harvest Home. It seemed like it was the place to take Isaac to! So this last Sunday, we packed up Isaac, his sisters, and his mother and made way for Lingle!
We had a great drive out there but we soon found out we didn't plan as well as we should have.. it was 51°F in Laramie but little did we know that Lingle was going to be windy and the temperatures at 32°F. We soon discovered that none of us had dressed for the weather there. My shorts and hoodie just weren't cutting it there!
In spite of the wind and cold, we all had a great time. Isaac and the girls had a great time playing in the corn bins. We enjoyed the animals and the delicious hot chocolate.
We are definitely looking forward to attending the pumpkin patch next year, though we will go better dressed for the weather!
