Filipino dinner & car spotting!

Last night was a great evening! Shortly before my wife got off of work, she messages me and asks if I wanted to go into Cheyenne this evening and try a Filipino restaurant there. As usual, I'm always game for trying new ethnic food! She picked me and the dogs up, as our plan was to go through the drive-through and take the food to a park to eat. That way we wouldn't leave the doggies home alone.

We got to Cheyenne around 6:30pm and pulled up to the Nipa Hut restuarant. We pulled into a parking space at the restaurant and pulled up their menu on our phones. There so many great entrees, that both Renee and I ended up getting a two-meat combination plate. Little did we know that their serving sizes are large!

I made the suggestion that we head over to where the action was happening in Cheyenne that evening: the weekly cruise night! I suggested we could find a spot ti sit in our car, eat our food, and enjoy the sights. We found the epicenter of the cruise night in a parking north of the state capital building. We had brought folding chairs and there were isolated spots of grass, so we sat outside, ate our delicious Filipino meals, and enjoyed watching the cars parked and driving by.

After we ate, we donned our masks and went for a walk. Shortly into our walk, I spotted this rare sight. This is a 1967 European market 1300 Bug. This model is not the same version we got here in the U.S. As I talked to the owner, he confirmed this Bug was purchased in Europe by a US serviceman and brought to the US. This a rare sight anywhere in the US, and especially up here in Wyoming!

I had to get something that we had left in the car, so I picked up our dappel Dacshund Greta and was heading back to the car. A local photographer who is a regular at the cruise night asked if she could take a picture of Greta and myself hanging out! Thanks Debbie!
