Yesterday was an exciting day for me! Yesterday marks the first meeting of my new VW car club! Yes, the Thin Air Dub Club is official! We ended up with four VWs in attendance, with a couple of us (me included) that couldn't bring our VWs.
This has been a labor of love for me. As I've mentioned in previous posts, when I moved to Wyoming I was leaving a large community of VW friends and buddies. People who I could call for help, advice, or just hang out in the garage and bench race. With the move to Laramie, I didn't know a single soul here. In the last four years or so, I've gradually discovered that there were a few VW folks out here in Laramie and in Cheyenne.
During the beginning of the pandemic, I felt that it was the time to start organizing a club. My vision was a club that would bring the VW fans of Laramie and surrounding areas together, to get to know each other, to share knowledge, and to become a community. I hope that seeing our cars together will maybe inspire someone to become a VW gearhead and join us.
It looks like our next meeting is going to be October 10th and it is looking like we will have more people and VWs in attendance! Can't wait!!
