The Unity Tour!!

It is common knowledge that I'm a life long avid fan of the Pet Shop Boys and almost as long of New Order. Both artists are frequent additions to my musical playlists. So back in 2019 when it was announced that both of these acts were going to be touring TOGETHER, in what was going to be called the Unity Tour, I had to attend one of the shows.

My wonderful wife surprised me with two tickets to the Hollywood Bowl show in California. The sad part was the fact that she wasn't going to be able to attend. Her work's largest event of the year always takes place on the first Saturday of October, and this concert was the Friday before the event. 

In her absence, she suggested that I see if my longtime friend Wilt would want to join me. Wilt is an avid concert guy who is regularly going to concerts all over southern California, so when I mentioned it to him, he was all in. 

As i mentioned earlier, this was my first visit to the Hollywood Bowl. I've had many friends who've attended concerts and events there, but I've never managed to go. It was some place I was hoping to someday to visit. That meant that on top of getting to watch two of my all time favorite music acts perform live, I would also get to watch them at the Bowl! 

The Pet Shop Boys put on a show as only they could. With a crazy LED light show that was carefully choreographed to the music, it was a wild sight for the eyes. They did a great set list, with a majority of the songs coming their first ten years of hits. The show was a feast for your eyes and your ears!

After another 30 minute show by DJ Oakenfold, New Order came on for another great show! New Order did a more conventional rock concert, with their great music, high energy, and rockin' music! It was such a great experience to finally be able to catch them live. Definitely not something I will ever forget! 

At the end of the evening, I was just pumping with adrenaline. Both PSB and New Order put on great shows, and I felt so lucky to have seen both of them in one night, at the bowl, and hanging out with my great friend. 

It was a great night!
