As many of you know, this past May our grandson Isaac came to stay with my wife and I full time for the summer. His mother was moving to South Carolina, so we offered to keep him so she could get settled before moving Isaac in. He would get to spend the summer with his Opa and Oma, and his mother would be able to get settled in to their new home.
Things did not go as she had planned, so as we progressed to late summer, and they were not quite ready for Isaac to move out there. Renee and I offered to let Isaac stay with us for the start of school and we would get him enrolled into our neighborhood elementary school, so he could start Kindergarten.
For the last seven months, Isaac has been enjoying life in Laramie. He was having fun in his Kindergarten class, making new friends, experiencing new things, and learning a lot. We took advantage of this time to give him experiences that he might have had otherwise. We enjoyed having him here!
We all know the fun was going to come to an end. This last Friday evening Isaac was picked up by his mother. They caught a flight Saturday afternoon to take Isaac to his new home in South Carolina. He's now living with his brother, his mother, and his brother's father.
We are looking forward to visiting Isaac in South Carolina, as we will miss the guy! He's going to be happy with his home and ultimately that what any grandparent wants: for the grandkids to be happy!
