I thought I'd take this opportunity to introduce you to our little ones. No, not the kids (they are full grown) or even the grandson (though he is adorale). The two cuties I am talking about are our dogs, two Dacshunds: Prada and Greta.
I have previously written about Prada, when we adopted her two and a half years ago. She is now about 10½ years old and her adoption was made possible by the Second Chance to Dance Dacshund Resuce from Farson, Wyoming. Prada is what we call our 'old lady'. She is content to just cuddle up on the couch with you and sleep the day away. The top of our couch cushion is usually where I find here during the week. The only time she gets excited is meal time! The anticipation of food turns her into an excited puppy. She does this little hop with her front legs that is so cute and so not like her.
Greta came into our lives by way of our friends Justin and Ashley. Justin and Ashley had bred their Dacshund with a breeder's Dacshund. Greta's striking fur pattern and coloring is called being a dapple. At 1½ years old, she is still in that energetic puppy phase. She likes to play fetch with her dog toys, though the toy doesn't always make it back to you, as she loves to chew on it for a while. As a young dog, she loves to play rough house with whoever will indulge her.
