Kids' Pumpkin Walk

This past weekend was a beautiful way to start October! The day time high temperatures were in the mid to high 60s and the skies were blue. You couldn't ask for a better start of fall, especially here in Laramie!

The first Saturday of October marks the very popular event at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site, the Kids' Pumpkin Walk. This event is a big community favorite, as it is a fun afternoon to spend with young families. The Prison and the event sponsors provide activities, prizes, and even pumpkins for the kids.

This year our local car club, the Working Class Car Club, teamed up with the Prison to provide a new event activity: a trunk-n-treat! The Trunk-N-Treat sounded like a fun way of getting to know some more car folks and participate in Kids' Pumpkin Walk. I signed up with the car club and said I'd have the Bug out there.

If you look at the above photo, you will see the Bug on the far left!

This was the crowd for almost the whole day!

At the end of the day, all of the trunk-n-treat participants, including my grandson Isaac, stood in front of the prison for a group photo. Speaking for myself, I had a great time. Many of the car owners that were there expressed the same thought, and we all agreed that we will need to buy much more candy next year!!
