Reevaluating my expectations

As an introvert and a Masters Swimmer, one of the perks of swimming is that you spend a lot of time by yourself, just doing your laps and contemplating your thoughts. Of course this is particularly true because I'm currently swimming alone and unattached to a USMS team. I don't have a lanemate or a lane neighbor to distract me; its just me, myself, and I.

Anyways, as I swam today's workout, I pondered about something I shared in my previous entry, namely my frustration that I'm doing less than half of the yardage I was doing back in California. As I stated there, I don't know if it is the altitude change (which I need to work through), is there something wrong with my body in adapting to the new hometown, or what. I just don't know.

I just contemplated those thoughts, like I've done for the last week or so, but today I came to a conclusion of thought that I wanted to share. What's my conclusion? My conclusion is that, at the moment, I don't know what's going on and I need to figure it, but I can't let the frustration get to me. I just need to re-evaluate my goals, being 100% honest and realistic, and determine a new set of goals.

So now my goal is analyze my current strengths and weaknesses in the pool and address them. I want to make my strengths even better, and make my weaknesses my strengths.

The ultimate goals:
1). Lose the weight so I feel healthier
2). Get back to a fitness level that I'm setting my USMS personal bests in my favorite events.

Now I have to do the work. --UberClydesdale
