This past weekend was the annual WyoTech car show. For those of you unfamiliar with WyoTech, it is an automotive-centered vocational school where students learn many different areas of automotive repair and servicing. The school is based right here out of Laramie, and it is actually right next door to my work! A small group of guys from work met up at the show, too, so we all hung out together to check out the rides and catch up.
Anyway, the school hosts an annual car show at their campus. I've attended the event a few times—though I didn't know about it back when my Bug was running—so I was eager to check out the vehicles this year. I was definitely in need of doing some automotive drooling.

Before I even made it into the main show area, I spotted this incredibly cool vintage Dodge pickup. |

Once inside, the surprises kept coming. I don't think I've ever
seen a Ferrari at this show before, but there one was—and it was gorgeous! |

On the complete opposite end of the automotive spectrum, I ran
across the only VW in attendance. It was a 1970 Bug that had been completely converted with an electric drivetrain. |

Another cool sight, at least to me, was this rugged Land Rover
pickup. It's not something you see every day around here! |
All in all, it was a great afternoon of catching up with local car culture and getting inspired by some unique builds. Seeing that electric Bug definitely got my gears turning about my own garage projects. The WyoTech show seems to get bigger every year, and I'm already looking forward to seeing what rolls onto the campus for the 2027 event. Who knows—with a little luck and some dedicated garage time, maybe my '69 Bug will finally make its debut next year instead of just sitting on the sidelines.
