It is already November! Soon we will be knee deep in the Wisconsin winter: snowy and cold! That will mean staying inside and doing stuff from the warmth of our apartment. I'll be honest that at this point in the year, experiencing the cold weather again seems so foreign to me. We had a pretty nice summer and this fall was quite warm, that having to bundle up seems like a strange thing to do. Not much else to do, besides what bearable weather we have now, and brace for the cold days ahead!
Recently my wife and I visited a rather fun shop in Madison. Nestled just off of the main drive through downtown Madison, and on the border to the residential area, is a shop called "Meep Meepleton's World of Fun". They primarily sell nostalgia items (like from my childhood) and other niche items. We had a great time looking at so many great sights and reliving those memories.
These photos are a couple of things I found at a local collectibles store in Madison. If you don''t recognize them, these are the top panel for these original arcade games. I thought using them for a wall decoration was a festive way to display nostalgia items.
Centipede - Released in 1981 by ATARI. I had so much fun playing this game. It was probably the first time that I was actually comfortable with a track ball as the main controller. The follow-up was Millipede. They would definitely earn a space in my dream arcade.
Ms. Pac-Man - Released in 1982 and published by Midway. I'll be honest, I was never really good at maze games, so the Pac-Man series wasn't that appealing to me. If I was to get a Pac-Man game, it would probably be this one, as the different mazes make for more fun.
