I was really excited this morning, as I hadn't seen any of my friends since our last meet in October 2020. Hanging out on Facebook is fine and all, but it is fun to see everyone in person, check out our VDubs, and do some bench racing.
The morning started out with a bit of VW camaraderie. Two of our members were driving in from Cheyenne (about an hour drive for those of you unfamiliar with our corner of Wyoming), taking the scenic route through the Medicine Bow National Forest. As they were driving along, Truman's '66 Bug tossed his fan belt, leaving him stranded, unable to continue. Not having a spare on hand, Jacob drove ahead to Laramie. He got a replacement belt and drove back. It delayed their appearance to our meet, but I was happy they were able to make it!

We had about half a dozen VW folks show up at our Laramie Sonic Drive-Thru. Only half of us showed up with a VW, and of course my Bug wasn't there.. next time is my goal! We had Jacob with his '65 Type 3 Notchback, Truman with his '66 Bug, and a new member of the group, Jeremy and his family in their '72 Bug!
Here's to an even bigger get gathering in June, as we have a lot of great events coming up that month!
