Today I thought I'd give you, my dear readers, an update on my health journey. For the last two months, I have been struggling with an irritated stomach. It really seems to have started a week before the Christmas holiday, which led to spending the holiday season being really careful of what I was eating. So instead of enjoying the festive foods, I had to relegate myself to keeping my plate with relatively plain food. It was definitely not my first choice to spend the holidays!
With a chronic upset stomach, I've been unable to get into the pool since early December. I will admit that because of that, I've been having chlorine withdrawals. It just feels wrong that I haven't been able exercise. Of course this also means I haven't been able to get on the bike either. As a result of the lack of my workout routines, my weight has plateaued. I guess I should be thankful that my weight is just staying where it is and that it is not going back up.
The news isn't all gloom with this topic. I recently had appointment with my doctor, and we discovered a few things. The big news is that my hypertension and Type 2 diabetes are now both at our target numbers, so that means that I can now continue with the initial goal: to lose weight and get to my target weight. As of right now, I have about 60 lbs to go before we are at my doctor's weight goal. To be honest I'd like to get down another 20 below that to get closer to the weight I was when I graduated high school. I would still technically be a clydesdale, but it would make life much better for me.
Well thank you for joining me on this journey and I hope to hear from you soon!
