Another Klein coming to my stable!!

I mentioned in my previous post that my brother +Chris Slider  is a volunteer at the Fort Collins Bike Co-op. Every week he volunteers his Wednesday evening as the lead volunteer. He basically is the guy that runs the co-op those nights. The idea of hanging out with my brother, wrenching on bicycles seemed like a good time, so I am now officially a volunteer at the FCBC!!

This evening, as Chris and I were working on breathing life into a Kona Dew hybrid and preparing it for retail sale, Chris disappeared for a few minutes to get a bike that had been donated about a week or so earlier: a 1990 Klein Pinnacle Elite with the highly desirable "Backfire" paint job.

Chris wheeled the Klein into the work area to share with me. He called my name, knowingly full well my admiration for Kleins, and when I turned around to see what he needed, my jaw almost hit the floor. I couldn't believe it! We looked over the bike, taking note of any damage or worn out parts. Lucky for us, the shop manager was still there, so Chris struck up a deal for both this Klein and the 2000 Klein Mantra Pro ("Red Bull Klein") that I mentioned in an earlier post. That evening we left with both Kleins in our possession. The Mantra was his size and the Pinnacle was mine!
