Ok, I know that this isn't a swimming, or even aquatics, topic, but this is about sports apparel for clydesdales (like me!!) As I was reading my Google+ feed this morning, I came across Bicycling Magazine's article on the trend on the bicycling apparel for clydesdales. Yes, you read that right, bicycling apparel for us big folks!! I have to share that I was very excited to see that this topic was getting some attention. As someone who struggles to find sporting apparel in my size, it's always great to see companies that do make these sizes get some publicity from the media serving that sport.
Me personally, I do have some good experiences with one of the manufacturers mentioned: AeroTech Designs. When I first started on my path to getting healthier, one of my ventures was to get back on the bike. I learned my lesson in my younger years about wearing regular street clothes when you ride a bike for fitness: it can hurt! So as a teenager I learned that there is a reason for those tight fitting and padded in the right place shorts.
So probably about 2009 or 2010, I ordered a pair of bib shorts from AeroTech Designs. Actually, I first did my research and found on the web that there aren't very many vendors that offer cycling shorts in my size range. According to the folks in the Clydesdales/Athenas forum on bikeforums.net, the AeroTech Designs shorts were affordable and effective.
My opinion? They seem to make a good product. Something that clydes like myself can wear as we work our way down the scale to the regular sizes.
I've also noted that Aerotech Designs has recently started offering swim suits for us large guys.
