Killing time before practice

If ever there was an evening that I needed to swim, it was today! This hot weather (~100F) continues, so hopping in a pool in the evening is definitely on the great things to do before going to sleep. Tonight we did a main set that was essentially 300 yds of each stroke. For me that's not a big deal for backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle. Heck, I race 200s at the USMS meets, so I wasn't scared about that. The scary part was the first time through: it was butterfly! Ouch!!

     The set was like this:

4x25 sprint (10 seconds rest in between)
30 sec rest
2x50 sprint (15 seconds rest in between)
30 sec rest
1x100 sprint

I know I'm going to pay for that butterfly tomorrow!

In our 90 minute time slot, I was able to get in a total of 2200 yds tonight. That places my annual total for USMS's Go The Distance past 120 miles! Right now I'll be content to hit 200 miles before December 31st.
