My camera
The tools behind the hobby
The camera
As with every other hobbyist photographer, I've used many different cameras. I've done the progression from the simple point and shoot digital cameras (like my old Fuji 1 megapixel camera years ago) to the current camera I use: a Nikon D80 digital SLR.
I had been using my Nikon Coolpix 5700, but it seems to have died. I took it out of the backpack I store it in and transport it in, and turning it on yielded a scrambled viewfinder. It seems that the electronic viewfinder is now worthless. The cost to repair the camera probably costs more than to just find a good used 5700 or 8700. And since I now have a Nikon D80, I've set the CP5700 aside.
As for the D80, it's a beautiful camera. For those that don't know, it's a digital SLR camera, 10.2 megapixel, and is capable of taking 3 pictures per second.
Accessories
Kristina and I have been working on getting the D80 well equipped. She bought the D80 with a Nikon Nikkor 18mm-200mm f3.5/f5.6 lens. We've since added a 50mm f1.8 D series lens and a MB-D80 pack and hand grip.
