Tom's 2002 Passat GLS
My luxury commuter car
Well, I've gone and done it. Here's the new driver, a 2002 VW Passat. It's a GLS model, which is the basic model, but it does come with a 1.8L turbocharged engine, 5 speed automatic transmission, and a lot of amenities. It's a really nice car, with a lot of power (especially compared to the anemic SP1600 in the Bug).
I will be taking/posting some more pictures of the car as I can. I'd like to document this car from the beginning. I don't have intentions on "fixing it up" right now. I just need transportation. The car tweaking is focusing on the Bug and the Imp right now.
I can now park the Bug and start doing some of those larger projects that require the car to be tied up for a while.The Passat just makes it more convienent to work on the aircoolers. :).
Leann, like the license plate frame? I still have it and it goes on any of my watercooled VWs.
